  • He is the son of a school cook and a car worker.
  • Ron spent the first 6 years in South Shields before relocating to Coventry.
  • He made his debut TV show appearance as Frank in Ballet Shoes in 1975. Later, Ron went on to make his first feature film appearance as a Telegram Boy in It’s Getting Harder All the Time in 1976.
  • One of his earliest works was in an original production of playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker’s play Our Country’s Good in 1988.
  • In 2000, Cook appeared in Juno and the Paycock at the Donmar Warehouse for which he was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in the category of “Best Supporting Actor”.
  • Over the years, Cook has been cast in a number of plays that include The Seafarer, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, King Lear, and The Homecoming.
